Calculation methodology

Feed Additive ROI

Birds sold = placed × (1 − mortality/100). Live weight sold = sold × mean weight. Feed = live weight sold × FCR. Revenue = live weight sold × live price. Additive cost = product-scenario feed tonnes × (product dose × product unit price + mixing per tonne). Incremental profit = (product revenue − product feed − additive) − (baseline revenue − baseline feed). ROI = incremental profit ÷ additive cost × 100.

FCR Economics

Feed saved = live weight sold × (current − target FCR). Impact = feed saved × price per mass unit. This is feed-cost impact, not full flock profit. Stress-test feed prices are multiplied by 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 while the flock is fixed.

Feed Cost per Gain

Gain = birds × (final − starting weight). Feed = gain × gain-based FCR, or recorded total feed. Cost = feed × price per mass unit. Cost per gain = cost ÷ gain. Saving = cost A − cost B.

Water Medication

Body-weight dose: active ingredient = birds × weight × dose per weight unit. Water dose: active ingredient = mg/L dose × litres. Product quantity = active ingredient ÷ product strength. 20% w/w = 200 mg/g; 20% w/v = 200 mg/mL. The calculator does not select a treatment dose.

EPEF

EPEF = (livability % × mean live weight kg) ÷ (age days × FCR) × 100. Enter livability from 0 to 100; do not replace the percentage with a decimal fraction.

Assumptions & units

ROI and FCR Economics use live weight sold, exclude mortality salvage and fixed costs, and include charged wastage and feed used before mortality. Weighted stage price = sum(quantity × price) ÷ sum(quantity). Mass and water conversions do not convert currency.
