Formula and interpretation

EPEF = (Livability % × Average live weight in kg) ÷ (Age in days × FCR) × 100

General platform reference bands, not a validated standard for all breeds:

  • < 300: below typical commercial performance
  • 300–400: typical commercial performance
  • > 400: very good performance

Targets vary by breed, age, market weight and region. Compare with your own flock history.
